Technical Field Sales Specialist (Drug Metabolism) - Lab Software & Instrumentation Solutions - Virginia

The Company

A global leader in specialist laboratory software, instrumentation and solutions, supporting the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and CRO sectors. It delivers innovative, high-quality solutions that help laboratories improve efficiency, maintain regulatory compliance and generate reliable scientific data. As the business continues to grow across the US, they are looking to add a Technical Field Sales Specialist to support their Drug Metabolism product portfolio.

The Role

You'll support the Drug Metabolism product portfolio, managing a nationwide customer base helping scientists identify the right instrumentation, software and laboratory solutions to support Drug Metabolism and ADME research.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building long-term relationships with new and existing customers across the US.
  • Delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations and customer training.
  • Providing consultative technical support
  • Identifying new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
  • Preparing quotations and managing opportunities through the sales process.
  • Travelling approximately 50% nationwide to customer sites, conferences and industry events.

What You'll Need

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have a scientific background and enjoy working directly with customers.

You'll ideally have:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO or analytical laboratory environments.
  • Experience in laboratory instrumentation, scientific applications, technical support, technical sales or consulting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a wide range of scientific customers.

Benefits

This position offers a salary range of $75,000-$90,000 per year plus un-capped commission, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. In addition, there is an excellent benefits package including a 401(k) with company match, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 21 days of paid vacation annually, in addition to company holidays.
