
Senior Director – Patient-Centered Research - Location based in Canada (REMOTE)
Lead Quantitative Patient-Centered Research, Patient Preferences & Evidence Generation
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Patient-Centered Research with a strong background in quantitative research and patient-centered evidence generation.
The successful candidate will lead complex research programs for life sciences clients, providing scientific and strategic guidance across study design, methodology, analysis, and interpretation. A strong understanding of patient preference research, stated preference methods, discrete choice experiments (DCEs), survey research, and quantitative patient research is highly important for this role.
The position combines technical research leadership, client engagement, team management, and business development, with the opportunity to help shape and grow the patient-centered research practice.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and provide scientific oversight across quantitative patient-centered research programs.

Design and oversee patient preference studies, DCEs, stated preference research, and survey-based research.

Advise clients on appropriate research methodologies and evidence-generation strategies.

Provide senior review of study designs, protocols, analytical approaches, reports, and presentations.

Lead and mentor multidisciplinary research teams.

Build strong relationships with senior life sciences clients and participate in strategic discussions.

Support proposals, business development, and the growth of the patient-centered research practice.

Contribute to qualitative or mixed-methods projects where appropriate.
Key Requirements

10+ years of relevant health research experience, ideally within consulting or a life sciences environment.

Strong quantitative research background with experience in patient-centered research.

Demonstrated experience with patient preferences, stated preference research, DCEs, surveys, or related quantitative methodologies.

Strong understanding of research design, quantitative analysis, and interpretation.

Proven experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Strong client-facing, communication, and relationship-management skills.

Experience with mentoring, people management, and business development.

Advanced degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Public Health, Outcomes Research, or a related discipline.
Qualitative research experience is beneficial, but candidates should have a clear and substantial quantitative research foundation.
