
Research Manager – Patient-Centred Outcomes

Are you an experienced Patient-Centred Outcomes researcher looking to take the next step in your career within a leading health outcomes consultancy?
We are partnering with an established healthcare consultancy recognised for its expertise in Patient-Centred Outcomes (PCO), Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) and Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs).
They are looking to recruit a Research Manager to join their growing team, taking responsibility for the delivery of qualitative and quantitative research projects focused on the selection, development, validation and use of COAs within pharmaceutical drug development.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced and supportive research team working with pharmaceutical clients to generate patient-centred evidence that informs clinical development and the evaluation of treatment benefit.
Everything you need to know about the role

Lead qualitative and quantitative research projects focused on PROs and other COAs

Support the selection, development, validation and implementation of COA measures

Manage projects across timelines, contractual requirements and financial deliverables

Work directly with pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, contributing to discussions around COA strategy

Design and conduct qualitative research and analyse and report research findings

Critically review scientific deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy and alignment with client requirements

Lead project teams, allocating and supervising work across team members

Coach, mentor and support the development of junior colleagues

Contribute to research proposals and wider business development activities

Support the development of conference presentations, posters and journal publications

Depending on experience, contribute to patient preference research and interactions with regulatory agencies including the FDA and EMA
Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit

BSc, MSc or equivalent in Health Psychology, Psychology, Psychological Research Methods, Sociology, Life Sciences or a related discipline

Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a relevant research, healthcare or consultancy environment

Experience developing and/or validating PRO measures or other COAs
-
Experience designing and conducting qualitative research and analysing and reporting qualitative data and/or working with quantitative data

Pharmaceutical or life sciences client management experience

Strong project management skills, including experience managing contractual and financial aspects of projects

Ability to critically review scientific and client-facing deliverables

Strong leadership skills with experience managing project teams and supervising work

Excellent written, communication and presentation skills

Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, research ethics and relevant data protection requirements

Experience with regulatory engagement, psychometric validation, patient preference research or line management would be advantageous
