Account Executive – Healthcare & Public Sector
Are you a confident, organised and client-focused professional looking to build your career in Account Management within the healthcare and public sector?
We’re partnering with a growing organisation looking for an Account Executive to join its commercial team, taking responsibility for a portfolio of clients while also supporting the management of larger, more complex accounts.
This is a great opportunity for someone at an earlier stage of their account management career who enjoys working with clients, solving problems and making sure things get done. You’ll have genuine responsibility from the outset, alongside plenty of opportunity to learn and develop your commercial experience.
The role combines client relationship management, account support, reporting, training and onboarding, giving you broad exposure to how successful service-based client relationships are managed.
Everything you need to know about the role
You’ll look after your own portfolio of healthcare and public sector clients, becoming a trusted day-to-day contact and helping ensure they receive a consistently high level of service.
Alongside managing your own accounts, you’ll work closely with more senior members of the commercial team, supporting larger client relationships with reporting, insight, training and account activity.
It’s a varied and visible role. You’ll regularly interact with clients, deliver training and presentations, attend customer sites and work with colleagues across the business to keep accounts running smoothly.
Your role will include:
- Managing a portfolio of healthcare and wider public sector clients and developing positive, professional relationships.
- Acting as a key day-to-day contact for your accounts, making sure client queries and requests are handled effectively.
- Keeping a close eye on account performance and ensuring agreed service standards are being delivered.
- Recognising potential issues or changes in client satisfaction and making sure these are addressed quickly.
- Preparing regular reports and updates to give clients and the wider account team a clear picture of performance.
- Using client feedback and account data to spot trends and highlight areas requiring attention.
- Supporting senior colleagues with preparation for client meetings, account reviews and renewal discussions.
- Helping new clients get off to a strong start through effective onboarding and ongoing support.
- Delivering client training sessions, both remotely and in person, and building your confidence presenting to different stakeholder groups.
- Keeping account and CRM information accurate, organised and up to date.
- Working with colleagues across the business to resolve client issues and maintain a high-quality customer experience.
Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit
We’re looking for someone who is client-focused, organised and keen to develop their career within Account Management.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in an Account Executive, Account Coordinator, Customer Success, Client Services or similar customer-facing role.
- The confidence to communicate with clients professionally and build strong working relationships.
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence presenting information or delivering training to customers.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing client information.
- Confidence working with data, reports and spreadsheets to understand how accounts are performing.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to recognise when something needs attention.
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to involve or escalate to more senior colleagues.
- A reliable approach and the ability to follow through on commitments to both clients and colleagues.
- An interest in developing your understanding of the NHS, healthcare and wider public sector.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car, as some travel to customer sites will be required.
Previous experience working with NHS, healthcare or public sector clients would be beneficial but isn't essential. Experience delivering client training, presentations or webinars would also be valuable.
What's on offer?
- The opportunity to manage your own client portfolio and take on genuine responsibility from the outset.
- Exposure to clients across healthcare and the wider public sector.
- The chance to work alongside experienced Account Managers and learn how larger, more complex client relationships are managed.
- A varied role combining relationship management, client support, reporting and training.
- Training and ongoing development to help you build your account management and commercial skills.
- The opportunity to take on greater responsibility as your experience develops.
- A supportive commercial team within a growing organisation.
- Flexible and hybrid working.
