Summary
Are you an experienced Healthcare Market Researcher who enjoys going beyond the research findings to understand what they actually mean for the client and what they should do next?
We’re working with a highly successful, independent insights consultancy that is continuing to grow its Healthcare team following a particularly strong period of client demand.
This isn't a business that sees market research as simply conducting the research and producing a deck. Their approach sits somewhere between high-quality market research and strategic consultancy, helping pharmaceutical and healthcare clients translate insights into clear commercial direction, strategy and action.
They’re now looking for a Research Manager who shares that mindset.
The role
You'll work across a varied portfolio of international healthcare and pharmaceutical research, with projects predominantly qualitative but with exposure to and an appreciation of quantitative research too.
You'll take ownership of projects from initial set-up through to final delivery, including:
- Managing multiple healthcare research projects
- Building strong relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Moderating interviews and attending international fieldwork
- Analysing research and identifying the real themes, insights and implications
- Turning complex findings into clear, engaging and actionable stories
- Producing high-quality reports and presentations
- Presenting findings and recommendations to clients
- Supporting proposal development, costing and research design
- Contributing ideas around methodologies and how projects could be approached differently
- Working closely with senior colleagues on larger, more strategic programmes
What they're looking for
You'll already have solid experience within healthcare/pharmaceutical market research, ideally from an agency or consultancy environment.
You'll also need:
- Strong qualitative research experience and moderation skills
- Experience working on international healthcare projects
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognise the important story within the research
- Confidence communicating and presenting directly to clients
- Strong report writing and storytelling skills
- An understanding of quantitative research
- Experience contributing to proposals and research design
- The confidence to manage projects independently
- A genuine interest in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries
But they're particularly interested in how you think.
They're looking for someone intellectually curious who will challenge themselves, question the obvious and think about how the research can add greater value.
Someone who doesn't want to simply execute a methodology because “that's how we've always done it”, but instead thinks about the business question first and considers the best way to answer it.
Why join?
This is a business doing extremely well in a challenging market, with strong levels of repeat business and continued demand from its clients.
They're also investing heavily in what the next generation of market research looks like – expanding their capabilities across strategic consulting, quantitative research, advanced analytics and AI, while maintaining the belief that great research ultimately comes down to the quality of the people and thinking behind it.
You'll join a team of bright, experienced researchers in an environment that is professional without being overly corporate. People are trusted, given space to develop and encouraged to contribute ideas rather than simply follow a process.
If you're looking for a Research Manager position where you can think more strategically, challenge yourself and take research further than the findings, we'd love to hear from you.
Unless otherwise stated, if applying for a job within the UK or European Union, you must ensure that you are already authorised to work there.
