Carrot was selected as ZOLL Medical Corporation’s exclusive recruitment partner to support with two key hires.

A Technical Consultant & A Therapy Development Manager | ZOLL Medical Corporation | UK

Carrot was selected as ZOLL Medical Corporation’s exclusive recruitment partner to support the growth of its UK CMS team, recruiting two key positions for its innovative LifeVest device: a Technical Consultant and a Therapy Development Manager.

Requirements of the Hire

ZOLL was building its presence in the UK and needed to strengthen its team to support the growth and awareness of the LifeVest device across key cardiac settings.

The Technical Consultant role was particularly important following an unsuccessful previous hire. ZOLL needed someone with a combination of technical expertise and strong administrative skills to support device fittings and reduce the additional workload placed on the existing team.

The Therapy Development Manager role was created to provide greater coverage across the UK, with a particular focus on the North of England and Scotland. The successful candidate would help build and grow accounts while increasing awareness of the LifeVest device within key cardiac settings.

Carrot was introduced to ZOLL through our relationship with Global network INRALS as affiliate partner, with an exclusive partnership agreed from the outset.

Our Approach

We took a targeted search approach, combining headhunting through LinkedIn with applications generated through advertising.

Understanding the Opportunity

Following detailed briefings with the hiring manager, we invested time in understanding the LifeVest device, the wider opportunity and the requirements of each position.

This enabled us to communicate the opportunity effectively to prospective candidates and build genuine excitement around the company, the growing UK team and the technology.

Specialist Candidate Search

For both positions, we focused on identifying candidates with the right technical expertise, experience and potential to contribute to ZOLL’s continued growth in the UK.

For the Technical Consultant position, the search required particular attention to the combination of technical capability and administrative skills needed for the role.

Speed & Flexibility

The Technical Consultant search demonstrated the importance of remaining flexible and responsive throughout the recruitment process.

The initial briefing took place on 18 December, with the first-stage interviews completed by 8 January, second stages by 9 January and final sign-off on 16 January. The successful candidate was offered the role the same day and started within two weeks.

During the Christmas break, we continued to progress the search, with a candidate screened on Christmas Eve ultimately becoming the successful appointment.

The Therapy Development Manager search began with a briefing on 6 January. Following a targeted search, the final stage took place on 9 February, resulting in an offer and acceptance. The successful candidate joined ZOLL at the beginning of May and met the wider team in Belgium on their first day.

Outcome

The partnership resulted in two successful hires across ZOLL’s UK CMS team.

For the Technical Consultant role, four candidates were presented, with three progressing to first-stage interview and two reaching the final stage. One candidate was successfully appointed, while the second finalist was retained as a potential future candidate.

For the Therapy Development Manager position, six candidates were presented, with four invited to interview. One candidate stood out as an excellent fit and progressed through the process to a successful offer and acceptance.

The appointments strengthened ZOLL’s UK team, helping provide additional support for device fittings while improving geographical coverage across the North of England and Scotland.

Carrot continues to maintain regular contact with both successful candidates and ZOLL’s HR Business Partner, with the relationship continuing into discussions around the company’s future UK hiring strategy.
