Vice President / Senior Vice President – Pharmaceutical Market Research

My client is a rapidly growing, independent pharmaceutical market research consultancy that has roughly doubled in size over the last 18 months. They’re looking for experienced VP and SVP-level researchers who enjoy the commercial side of their role but still want to stay close to clients, research and the work itself.

Everything you need to know about the role

This is a genuine seller-doer / seller-oversight opportunity. My client is looking for people who can develop and grow senior client relationships, while still enjoying the research and strategic side of the role. It isn’t a move into a pure sales position.

You’ll:

  • Own and grow senior relationships with pharmaceutical clients
  • Provide strategic direction across a broad range of custom qual and quant research
  • Work across areas including communications research, patient journey, segmentation, complex quant and demand forecasting
  • Remain close to projects, providing senior-level input and supporting the wider research team
  • At SVP level, take on additional responsibility for mentoring and developing the team

Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit

My client is fairly flexible on the exact research background and is open to people who lean more towards either qual or quant. What’s important is strong pharma research experience alongside the commercial ability to develop and grow client relationships.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Significant pharmaceutical / healthcare market research experience
  • A strong custom primary research background
  • Experience managing and growing senior client relationships
  • A track record of revenue generation or account growth
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach and a desire to remain involved in the research
  • People leadership experience for the SVP level

What’s on offer?

My client has grown significantly over the last couple of years but remains an independent business of around 50 people. It offers the chance to have genuine visibility and influence, while joining an established consultancy with a strong existing client base.

  • Fully remote working across the US
  • 100% custom pharmaceutical market research
  • Broad exposure across qual and quant projects
  • An established client base with a high proportion of repeat business
  • Genuine autonomy and influence as the business continues to grow
  • The opportunity to stay close to clients and research while developing your commercial responsibilities
  • Strong opportunities for progression as the company continues to expand
