It was a pleasure to attend the INRALS Annual General Assembly, held from 13th–15th May in the coastal Swedish city of Helsingborg. Representing Carrot at this year’s event, our Group Head of Digital Content, Lexxy Sturgess, joined recruitment leaders from across the global INRALS network to discuss the future of life sciences talent acquisition and, in particular, how international collaboration and digital innovation are reshaping the way we work.

What is INRALS?

INRALS – the International Network of Recruitment Agencies in Life Sciences – is a global alliance of independent recruitment agencies dedicated exclusively to the life sciences sector. Spanning more than 20 countries, the network connects pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostics organisations with specialist recruitment expertise wherever they need it.

Carrot serves as the UK, US, and Canadian partner within the network, which collectively comprises 18 specialist firms servicing 44 countries worldwide. The model is collaborative by design: member agencies share recruitment expertise, local market knowledge, and in-country support – enabling seamless cross-border hiring for clients whose needs extend beyond any single region.

“Being part of INRALS means we can combine our deep regional expertise with access to trusted partners in every key global life sciences market.”

Themes from this year’s Assembly

This year’s gathering placed a strong emphasis on how recruitment businesses must continue evolving to meet changing client and candidate expectations. Conversations centred on three broad themes: the integration of AI tools to improve operational efficiency; new opportunities for deeper cross-border collaboration; and the growing demand for recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) solutions across the network.

Beyond the formal agenda, the Assembly offered an invaluable opportunity to strengthen relationships with partner agencies, exchange market intelligence, and align on how the network can continue delivering a consistent, high-quality experience for internationally operating clients.

What INRALS membership means for Carrot clients

As life sciences organisations grow increasingly global in their operations, access to reliable international hiring support has never been more important. Through our INRALS partnership, Carrot clients benefit from:

Cross-border hiring support

Consistent quality

A collaborative global network delivering aligned service standards, wherever your hiring needs arise.

Looking ahead

Networks like INRALS play an increasingly vital role as life sciences organisations scale internationally and compete for specialist talent across borders. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with INRALS partners worldwide – and to welcoming the network to Manchester when Carrot hosts next year’s Assembly.

If your organisation has international hiring needs within life sciences, we’d be glad to discuss how Carrot and the wider INRALS network can support you.
