Clinical Research Team Build | UK Clinical Research Organisation
Carrot Recruitment supported a UK-based CRO who specialise in Human Challenge Trials by building out their Nursing Studies teams (at Entry, Senior and Lead level) over a twelve month period.
Requirements of the Hire
As part of their Human Challenge Trials, the CRO specialised in conducting clinical trials for vaccinations to treat respiratory diseases– ranging from RSV, COVID-19, and asthma. As a result, there was a frequent need for a recruitment partner who could identify appropriate Clinical Research Nurses at all levels.
Our Approach
Our Clinical Research team had been partnered with the organisation for more than two years, having initially been brought on following an urgent need of Nursing talent during the pandemic to support the clinical trials testing the various COVID-19 vaccinations. Since then as the variation of trials evolved, the team became a valued recruitment partner being able to not only source hard-to-find talent, but being able to offer advisory services to ensure a mutually-benefitting relationship for both parties.
The Outcome
Having supported hires across both London and Manchester regions, the assignment process had remained consistent: an initial virtual meeting with the HR Director and the Lead Clinician (according to the appropriate Trial requiring staffing support), followed up by a face-to-face meeting and consequent decision.
Carrot successfully delivered a large volume of Senior Research Nurses; Clinical Research Nurse Leads; Senior Clinical Research Nurses into the CRO, with more than 38 profiles being submitted for consideration, generating 32 interviews, and more than 19 placements made at the CRO.
A Partnership Approach
At Carrot, 65% of our assignments throughout 2024 were worked in genuine partnership, where we were the sole supplier entrusted with that particular hiring project. There are some really significant benefits to this method of working that should never be overlooked. Our clients who employ this method rarely convert back to using a multi-agency approach for specific remits. Our success rate is 100% when working in partnership.
