Our client is a nimble European Specialist Packaging Company that provides protective packaging across a number of different industries, including healthcare, diagnostics, pharma and devices. They provide innovative packaging solutions across the UK, North America, Asia, and Europe, and they are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Business Development Professional to help drive new sales. They have an impressive portfolio of products as well as a bespoke offering where they can work in partnership with companies to develop unique packaging solutions to meet individual needs.

Everything you need to know about the role

Your role is to both bring on new business and grow/expand accounts to maximise potential. There is so much business to go at - currently 1,500+ companies on their CRM that aren't present customers, which you can target. Alongside this, you will also develop your own contacts and leads. You will be promoting the portfolio of high-quality protective packaging to various industries including healthcare, agriculture, automotive, and diagnostics; Offering extensive knowledge and support for your clients' packaging issues. The role requires 5 days per week of office working in Thames Valley where you can learn from the experienced team and up-skill quickly, whilst sharing ideas as a valued part of a close-knit team.

Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit

The client is looking for a great salesperson, someone keen to develop new opportunities and new leads - a real 'go getter'! Full training will be provided for someone with, ideally, a scientific background and 2+ years of dedicated sales experience. Someone who has a proven track record of being bale to learn/absorb technical information, speak on a technical level, and bring high levels of enthusiasm! Whilst the role will cover large parts of the UK and Ireland, as well as other regions in the EU, no previous European territory management experience is required. 

What’s on offer?

  • A basic salary of between £40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience.
  • Huge commission potential of an additional £60,000 on top of your basic salary, based on a percentage of generated sales.
  • Paid holiday of 23 days in the first year,  building to 30 days per year via an additional day for each subsequent year of service.

  • Excellent environment to support strong sales training and mentoring. Very low staff turnover with the vast majority of the sales team having an average tenure of 5 to 20 years.
