Our client is a well-established organisation that supports a national network of independent pharmacies. They provide clinical, commercial, and operational programmes designed to help members grow and deliver high-quality services. They are seeking a Pharmacy Services & Contract Pharmacist to lead service strategy, professional standards, and member-facing clinical guidance during a maternity leave period ideally on a full time fixed term contract of 6 months (may be extended to 12 months), however our client may consider a part time model of 3-4 days per week for the right candidate.

This will be a remote role, with limited travel expectations (twice per month)

This role combines strategic input with hands-on support, giving you the opportunity to shape how independent pharmacies deliver clinical services. You’ll be the go-to contract and services specialist, helping members navigate new opportunities and improve operational excellence.

  • Leading the development and implementation of the organisation’s pharmacy services and dispensing strategy
  • Tracking UK-wide NHS contract changes, service opportunities, and market trends
  • Creating training content, best-practice resources, and regulatory guidance
  • Coaching and supporting member pharmacies through visits and virtual session
  • Acting as the organisation’s pharmacist expert across all four UK nations
  • Working with suppliers, internal teams, and industry partners on service delivery
  • Supporting dispensary workflow optimisation and operational excellence

Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit

  • GPhC registered pharmacist essential
  • Commercial experience (community pharmacy, independent, retail, or B2B pharmacy environment)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence at multiple levels, including senior stakeholders
  • Project-management capability
  • Knowledge of the independent pharmacy sector (ideal)
  • Practising or recently practising pharmacist within community pharmacy (preferred)
