We’re supporting an award-winning healthcare communications agency that partners with major pharmaceutical and health brands to deliver creative, insight-driven work across promotional, medical and digital channels. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Medical Writer looking to progress, or an established Senior Medical Writer seeking a more creative, collaborative and strategically shaped environment.

You’ll join a highly regarded, close-knit scientific and creative team known for pushing boundaries, championing bold ideas, and producing work that genuinely moves the industry forward.

Everything you need to know about the role 

In this senior writing position, you’ll play a central role across several key accounts - helping to shape scientific narratives and bring complex data to life through clear, compelling and compliant communication. You’ll act as the scientific lead on your projects, working closely with strategy, creative and client services teams to deliver high-quality work across a diverse range of therapy areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing scientifically robust, engaging and compliant content across digital, print and experiential channels
  • Translating complex clinical data into clear messaging that supports strategic direction and creative development
  • Taking ownership of key accounts and ensuring consistency of tone, accuracy and scientific integrity
  • Working closely with creative teams to help bring ideas to life in innovative and meaningful ways
  • Contributing to pitches, literature searches and scientific background materials
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external clients, presenting your work with confidence
  • Providing mentorship and support to junior writers as they continue to develop
  • Staying up to date with the latest data, therapy area insights and industry best practice

Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit

This role suits someone with a genuine passion for science and creativity, alongside the confidence to guide both colleagues and clients through complex scientific topics.

You should bring:

  • Previous experience within a healthcare communications or medical education agency (at least 3 years)
  • An advanced life sciences degree and a solid grounding in medical writing for promotional materials
  • Ability to interpret, analyse and simplify complex scientific information
  • Experience working across a variety of deliverables - from eDetails and websites to congress materials and education programmes
  • Confident client-facing communication and strong presentation skills
  • Collaborative working style, with the ability to partner effectively with creative, strategic and account teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and familiarity with ABPI guidelines and Veeva PromoMats
  • A positive, proactive mindset and a real enthusiasm for participating in the creative process
