Do you have deep experience in US biopharma trade and distribution, with a passion for ensuring patient access in specialty markets? We’re partnering with a European biopharmaceutical organisation developing innovative therapies for rare diseases and critical care. With a strong European presence and an expanding US footprint, this is a unique opportunity to shape North American Trade & Distribution strategy from the ground up.
Everything you need to know about the role:
You will:
- Design and implement a national distribution channel strategy (Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distributor, wholesalers, and hospital channels) with defined SLAs
- Negotiate and manage trade contracts (SP/SD/wholesaler, GPO interfaces, hospital agreements) in collaboration with Legal and Pricing & Contracting
- Establish channel reporting across inventory positions, service levels, dispense data, and time to therapy metrics, leading partner QBRs
- Oversee licensing and compliance (DSCSA, state licenses, SOPs) and manage returns/chargeback disputes
- Partner cross functionally (Supply Chain, Tech Ops/CMC, Quality, Finance, Commercial Ops) to ensure launch readiness and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners to ensure service excellence
Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit:
- Over 10 years in biopharma trade and distribution, including building programs for specialty product launches
- Deep understanding of SP/SD/wholesaler economics, order to cash processes, and inventory management
- Solid knowledge of wholesaler, GPO, and government reporting requirements
- Proven success negotiating complex channel agreements and driving partner performance
- Ability to lead and develop teams effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred
Preferred:
- Experience designing rare disease distribution channels and integrating patient services/hub models
