Consultant team growth | Alira Health | Barcelona
Carrot Recruitment partnered with Alira Health to grow their management consulting team in Barcelona. The remit was to attract an additional eight Consultants/Senior Consultants, with highly specialised project expertise within life science consulting.
Requirements of the growth project
Alira Health, a global management consultancy with the majority of their team based in Barcelona, required support to expand their consulting team. While they had an internal recruitment team, it supported the wider business, and the management consulting team needed urgent support to source high-calibre individuals with specific life science strategic project experience. The Consultants and Senior Consultants they were looking to attract, needed to have strong consultancy backgrounds, capable of passing Alira Health’s rigorous four-stage interview process, including two business case study interviews.
Our Approach
To meet this need, we took an exclusive partnership approach with Alira Health, ensuring complete focus and commitment to the process from both sides. Our team carried out detailed market mapping across Barcelona, wider Spain and into the rest of Europe, identifying consultancy candidates within similar firms with relevant project expertise. We leveraged LinkedIn Talent Insights, LinkedIn Recruiter, and direct advertising via LinkedIn, our own website, and social media channels to reach top-tier candidates.
What set us apart was our deep understanding of consultancy work, drawn from both industry and recruitment experience, enabling us to filter and present only the most relevant candidates. By working closely with Alira Health’s management, we aligned tightly with their standards and invested significant time and resources to deliver results within the short timeframe required.
Outcome
Over a three-month period, we submitted 49 CVs, of which 35 candidates progressed to the first interview stage. Impressively, 33 of these advanced to the case study rounds, demonstrating the high calibre of our shortlists. This process resulted in 7 offers and 5 successful hires, with additional candidates still in process (at time of writing) to complete the team’s growth target for the year.
Through this partnership, Alira Health has been able to strengthen its consultancy team with high-performing individuals who successfully passed one of the most demanding recruitment processes in the market.
A Partnership Approach
At Carrot, 65% of our assignments throughout 2024 were worked in genuine partnership, where we were the sole supplier entrusted with that particular hiring project. There are some really significant benefits to this method of working that should never be overlooked. Our clients who employ this method rarely convert back to using a multi-agency approach for specific remits. Our success rate is 100% when working in partnership.
